VR Project:

As part of BCFE's games design course, I worked as part of a team where we developed a VR Sci-Fi puzzle game,
in this game I worked mainly on the coding of the game implementing the main weapon in the game (the acid gun), it's interaction in the world and working with another team member in making the movement controls.
Idea and Process
The idea was generated in October from a discussion with other students about wanting to make a VR game for the end of year project,
Each of us then divided into our teams and this is where the idea of creating a Metroid/Castlevania style game in VR came from.
The project was an amazing learning experience for building a game in VR,
I mainly worked on the programming aspects of the game but I did have a hand in the level and puzzle design of the space station that the player is trapped on.
I am so insanely proud of what I learned and created with this game.
MetroidVRania Gameplay
I coded in the interactions and animations for the pre-made hand models.
The models and animations were provided in an installed VR package for Unity
I created scriptable objects for the weapons as it allowed for a wider scale when designing the combat and puzzles for the game.
The model is from the Sci-Fi Gun collection by Black Curtain Studios
The biggest compliment I got on this project was that the use of the gun was very fun to use.
I coded in a script to handle two handed interactions to ensure that the gun felt natural to hold.
MetroidVRania Trailer
As part of the project I also created and edited a trailer that was shown at the IFSC showcase for BCFE in 2022
